The country's energy systems have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and dealt with interruptions to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was killed in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, based on information from area administrators.

Russian forces has increased attacks on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but firm measures - from the US, European nations and the G7 - in providing protection systems and implementing sanctions," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A series of attacks hit energy infrastructure and residential structures in Kyiv.

Multiple people wounded in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, according to municipal representatives.
